Frequently asked questions

Can't find your answer? Contact us and we'll help.

How wide is your linen fabric?

Most of our linen fabric is 56 inches (about 142 cm) wide. Our CALM linen for bedding is 120 inches wide. The width is listed on each fabric's page.

Do you sell linen fabric by the yard?

We sell by the meter. One meter is about 1.09 yards, so for 3 yards order 3 meters (about 3.3 yards).

Should I wash linen fabric before sewing?

Many of our fabrics are already washed and pre-shrunk, and the product page says so when they are. If a fabric isn't, wash it the way you'll wash the finished piece before you cut it, so it won't shrink after sewing.

Can you sew something from this fabric for me?

Yes. We can make shirts, pants, dresses, curtains, bedding or covers from our fabrics, cut to your measurements. Contact us with what you'd like and we'll send you a quote.

What does the Lea count mean?

Lea measures how fine the linen yarn is. A higher Lea means finer, lighter yarn for shirts. A lower Lea means heavier yarn for pants, suits, bedding and curtains.
