What Happens After You Order? We Plant.
Planting through Order
You’ve placed your OrganoLinen order. Your piece is being made - not pulled from a warehouse, but cut, sewn, and finished just for you.
But that’s not the end of the story.
In fact, it’s where a new one begins - not in your closet, but in the soil as a planting.
Introducing: Linen to Leaves - Planting Initiative
We’re thrilled to share a new step in our sustainability journey: Linen to Leaves, an initiative where every OrganoLinen order plants a real plant - starting with tea and coffee - in collaboration with The Plantation Club, a regenerative agriculture collective based in India.
From the moment your order is confirmed, you're not just investing in slow fashion - you're helping something grow. Literally.
Why Are We Planting?
Linen is already one of the most sustainable fabrics available. It uses less water, fewer pesticides, and leaves a lighter footprint than cotton or synthetics.
But we asked ourselves: what more can we do?
-
What if your order helped restore biodiversity?
-
What if it contributed to soil health and long-term climate resilience?
-
What if it grew roots - in more ways than one?
That’s how Linen to Leaves was born.
How It Works
Here’s what happens behind the scenes:
-
You place an order for your made-to-measure linen piece.
-
We queue a plant to be added to our next batch of saplings - currently tea and coffee plants, grown in native soil.
-
Our partners at The Plantation Club handle planting and care, using principles from the Miyawaki method - a proven approach to restoring dense, diverse native forest cover.
-
You receive updates via email or Instagram when we document the planting batches - and if you’re curious, we’ll happily share the specific plant grown for your order.

Why Tea and Coffee (Not Linen Flax)?
The flax plant, which linen comes from, doesn’t thrive in the tropical region where we’re planting. So instead, we’re choosing native species - like tea and coffee - that not only grow well here but also:
-
Restore soil nutrients
-
Support local pollinators
-
Provide long-term, low-impact agroforestry benefits
This is about doing what makes sense for the land - not forcing a marketing moment.
A Note on Trust and Transparency
This initiative isn’t a one-time pledge or a greenwashed PR move. It’s something we’ve been planning for months - rooted in transparency and long-term care.
You’ll never see us advertise tree counts or inflated impact stats. Instead, we’ll show you the soil, the seedlings, the real growth.
And if you ever want to know what your order helped plant, just ask.
What You’re Really Wearing
When you wear OrganoLinen, you're already wearing:
-
Breathable, biodegradable natural fabric
-
Made-to-order tailoring that reduces overproduction
-
A piece crafted to fit your shape, not a chart
But now, you're also wearing the story of a plant - growing thousands of miles away, doing good in the world.
We’re proud of that.
And we’re grateful you’re part of it.
